Is your soap natural?
Yes! Our soaps are handcrafted using natural oils, butters, clays, colorants, and essential oils. We never use synthetic detergents or harsh chemicals.
Do you use lye in your soap?
Yes. Our soap is made the old-fashioned way, which means it’s made with lye (sodium hydroxide). But no worries, it is completely transformed during the soapmaking process and none remains in the finished bar. Without lye, you can not make true soap. The natural oils and butters would retain their original form and wouldn’t become soap.
Is your soap vegan?
All of our soaps are 100% vegan, no tallow or animal fats here! We do use beeswax in our lotions, but if you prefer a vegan alternative like candelilla wax, just let us know.
Are your soaps and lotions safe for sensitive skin?
Absolutely. We created Soapie Squad because one of our own has extremely sensitive skin and we couldn’t find products that worked for her. Our soaps and lotions are formulated to be gentle and nourishing. For those with very sensitive skin, we recommend trying our unscented options like Ais Purity Bar, Newborn Soap, Noncompete Lotion and Noncompete DO. And just because they’re unscented doesn’t mean they’re boring!
How long does a bar of soap last?
With daily use, a bar typically lasts about a month. To help it last longer, store your soap on the provided soap dish that allows it to drain and dry between uses.
Do you make custom orders or favors for events?
Yes! We love working on custom orders for weddings, baby showers, and special gifts. Reach out for more info. We have partnered with brides, moms-to-be, and loving family members who want thoughtful gifts like soaps, shower steamers, and lotions. We also collaborate with local businesses to create private label products.
Do your soaps have fragrance oils or essential oils?
We use only essential oils—period. That means no watermelon or bubble gum scents. Many of our soaps, lotions, and steamers feature our signature essential oil blends, but we also offer single-scented items. Just ask!
Are your products tested on animals?
Never! We’re recognized by the Bunny Foundation as cruelty-free. We only test on happy, willing humans. Want to be a human tester, reach out!
How should I store my soap before use?
Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Do you offer unscented products?
Yes! We offer unscented soaps and lotions for those with scent sensitivities or who simply prefer a minimalist experience. Yes, we believe unscented doesn’t have to be boring. Look for the Noncompete Lotion, Noncompete Natural Deodorant and more!
Do your lotions contain parabens or phthalates?
Nope! All of our products are free from parabens, phthalates, and other harsh chemicals.
Are your lotions all-natural?
Yes! Our lotions are made with skin loving, natural ingredients like plant-based oils, butters, and waxes. We even use plant-based waxes.
What’s the difference between whipped lotion, body butter, and solid lotion?
- Whipped Lotion (like our Magnesium Lotion and Sleepy Time Lotion) contains water and magnesium oil. It’s light, fast-absorbing, and perfect for everyday use.
- Body Butter is water-free and ultra-rich. Ours is inspired by traditional African recipes—made with only oils and butters for deep, lasting moisture.
- Solid Lotion Bars are concentrated moisturizers in bar form—great for on-the-go hydration or travel. TSA Friendly!
