Before you wrinkle your nose—don’t worry, there’s no banana scent. The banana peel is added during the soap-making process and removed before mixing with the oils and butters. Why? Because banana peels are rich in natural sugars and fatty acids, which enhance the lather and slip of the soap, giving it a creamy, luxurious feel in your hands.
